Early Career Professional Committee

The future of our profession lies with those who are learning to become physical therapists, and the Academy has expressed an interest in serving this unique population with programs, education, and leadership development opportunities.  Through the work of the Early Career Professionals Committee, the Academy has dedicated resources to the development of programs that help our youngest members get a foothold in the profession.  Whether it's educational sessions at one of our two annual in-person conferences (TCC and CSM) specifically dedicated to students and young professional development or monthly virtual happy hours, early career professionals will find an opportunity to connect with the sports physical therapy content and professionals to help them advance.

All Academy members within five years of graduation or current students are automatically included in notifications about programs of the ECP Committee. There's no need to sign up for inclusion - it's automatic.

ECP Academy Benefits

ECP members of the Academy enjoy many of the same benefits as other members of the Academy, but there are a few that may of more importance:

State Liaison Network

Get involved with the Early Career Professionals State Liaison network.  Working to increase an open line of communication between the AASPT and the APTA state networks throughout the country, the Liaisons will help to relay information about the Academy's programs to students throughout their state while relaying vital student interest information to the leadership of the ECP.  To learn more about the program, click below.  Applications are due August 1, 2021 for the term starting September 1 through August 31, 2022.  Questions?  Contact Pedro Zavala.
