The inaugural Annual Meeting and Scientific Conference (AMSC) will feature over two days of educational content and opportunities for attendees to reconnect with each other and the sports physical therapy profession.  The conference will be held both in-person in Indianapolis and an online-only virtual experience (see below).  Join us in Indy for an opportunity to learn, lead, and reconnect!

NCAA Hall of Champions

In-person conference attendees will have ample opportunities to network with other attendees.  Join us on September 23 for an exclusive sports physical therapist reception at the NCAA Headquarters Hall of Champions.  Our annual TeamMates networking event will be held on Friday, September 24, just after Suds and Science - an opportunity to connect while learning from members as they share their research.  Click on the agenda below to learn more about the conference.

Are you unable to attend the in-person conference in Indianapolis?  We understand that work commitments and continuing COVID policies may not allow you to travel in mid-September. Your Academy has you covered!  Register for the Virtual AMSC experience and take on-demand courses from September 29 through October 31, 2021!

Programs available via the virtual conference will only be accessible to those who register for the virtual option (or as an add-on to the in-person conference) and will not be a live-streaming of the in-person conference.  The virtual program will include 12 asynchronous courses provided by experts in the field and five live online webinars held each Wednesday beginning September 29.  We will also be holding a virtual TeamMates networking event on Thursday, October 21, at 8 p.m. EDT at no additional charge to those who register for the virtual conference.

The virtual conference is available in a 3 program, 6 program, or entire conference option.  Only those registering for the entire conference will have access to the live Wednesday night talks starting September 29 and continuing through October 27. See below for CEU offerings.

Statement on COVID-19 Safety Protocols

As of September 1, these are the AASPT expectations for participation in the AMSC:

Vaccines: AASPT is requiring that participants are vaccinated or have a negative lab-based COVID-19 test within 72 hours of participation. We will require proof of vaccination or a negative lab-based test within 72 hours of participation along with a corresponding government-issued ID at the time of check-in at the Hyatt Regency. (A photo of your vaccination card or an email with your negative result on your phone is acceptable.)

Masks: Regardless of vaccination status, masks will be required for all indoor events during the AMSC, except when speaking at a microphone as part of event proceedings or when in the act of eating or drinking.

Personal responsibility: Attendees should refrain from participation if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. This includes fever and other flu-like symptoms, coughing or shortness of breath, and the inability to taste or smell. Delta variant symptoms may also include sore throat, runny nose, or headache. If you are symptomatic or believe you came into contact with someone with COVID-19, please get a test and contact AASPT if it is positive.

In addition to the above, AASPT will take the following actions:

Complimentary masks: Each attendee will receive one AASPT-branded cloth mask at event registration. In addition, disposable masks will be available at the registration and info desk at the conference.

Hand Sanitization: Attendees are encouraged to frequently wash their hands.  The AASPT will provide one personal bottle of hand sanitizer to each attendee, and the hotel will have sanitization stations throughout the building.

Food: There will be food at the AMSC.  The AASPT will work with the hotel to ensure all food service stations have the necessary food-service safety precautions.

Indicator ribbons: At registration, participants may pick up ribbons for their badges to indicate if they would prefer elbow bumps to handshakes or would prefer to avoid physical contact altogether.
